Tank swallowed a pork bone
Submitted by Mandaid82 on March 13, 2011 - 11:12amFriday night Tank swallowed a whole bone of a Chinese spare rib, about the size of a (small) middle finger. I called the Vet ER and they said just to keep an eye on him and watch for signs of distress, not pooping, vomiting, diarrhea, etc. So far he has been fine but we are watching him closely. Any experiences with this? And how long would it take if it were to cause a blockage/internal puncture?
Kofi eat's raw pork bones
with meat on them. They are an edible bone for raw feeders.
I really don't know about cooked bones, but raw bones are digested and pass quickly. By that I mean, the color of poop tells me the bone has been digested.
I would say that Tank will be fine. :-)
Audrey eats rabbit and lamb bones that size
raw. And she eats chunks of pork ribs bones. They are always raw though.
He will probably be just fine, but keep a close eye on him!
