Tail again
Submitted by IndyBulldog™ on May 12, 2011 - 5:45pmSo Brothers tail cleared up with antibiotics, but didn't stay cleared. I used animax after washing with the hose outside, and pulled it apart and there is actually fecal material under there. He feels better after the cleaning and is playing, but I know this is a big problem cause what can I do about the material under his tail? I trim some hair from the end of his tail, but it hasn't helped.

I forgot
I was washing under there with a piece of new sponge and surgicial soap from the vet. It seems OK right now, I used some animax and some neosporin with painkiller under there and he quit panting and went back to his routine of sleeping eating and running the place with Buddy.

How often are
you cleaning it now? It is likely you need to clean every other day or every 3 days, depending on what you are doing now. If he has a tight tail he will always get stuff under there and old hair. It is a bulldog thing.

I had let it rest a few days after the antibiotics, so I have been trying to do it as often as it needs, but not too much....like a tight rope. But every 2 to 3 days seems to be the best time right now. He doesn't want me fooling with it, but is relieved after. I hate to use the water, but I know the fecal matter has to come out.
