Atleast for my Bullies -
I now have 2 Bullies - got our last one (EB) the end of the summer last year and she hasn't had any problems with her - YEAHHHHH - I wonder if it because of her bloodline hertiage? However, our rescue OEB is a different story - low immune system, red mange breakouts, interdigital furuncles and other small issues. I'm sure others have had bullies interdigital furuncles some people call them interdigital cysts.
Here's our story, if you can share experiences with this I would LOVE to hear about it.
Our rescue OEB we have had for lil over a year and a half has had minor to moderate medical issues from day one- one being interdigital furuncles. She began having issues with it in the late summer - We did the soaks and applied ointment. No biggie just took time to go away.
This year it's started early it's started early, more of them and one has oozed.
My husband is wanting to take her to the Vet ASAP. I told him just let me work with them and in a week we dont see any progress we'll take her. This is what I'm doing Clean out the any debris with peroxide and swabbing it dry then apply Animax ointment. I have also started her on a round of Clavamox I have also looked for any ingrown hairs -not seeing any- she had a battle with those on her face and chin this past winter.
She has a very high tolerance for pain so i can tell these must be pretty bad for her. While I'm doctoring on them, she'll look up at me with "crazy eyes" which she has never done even when she's had ingrown hairs so bad on her chin the skin split open about an inch bleeding and oozing and I had to get pick the hairs out with tweezers
Thank goodness oozing bumps and lumps don't gross me out - now if it was on a human it would LOL
Pics below of both feet after I cleaned them up.
Not to sound like a broken record but...
what are you feeding her? We used to have the idc's and our guys are all on grain free food and Ive found that it helps a lot. We haven't had any since they've been on it. It can take 6 weeks to see a change, but worth the wait. We use grain free salmon as that is the most likely not to cause problems. When our guys would have an idc, I always used preparation H on them three times a day, dried them up in two or three days. Our rescue Oreo used to have horrible red welts between her toes, so I know what you're going through!
