Hello everyone..
Hello! I wonder if people can share with us what they did to make their bully lose weight, and how long it took? Our Gunther is stocky but he is 73 pounds and too heavy. He loves to snack and is not fond of veggies. We feel bad not giving him table scraps, like he may think he did something wrong if we just stop.
If we make the changes, how long until we see results do you think? Gunther is 3 in October.
Any tips would be most appreciated!!

no more table scraps :)
As much as we love them and want to share our food with them we have to realize thats not best for them :) I used to do the same thing with Rosie..she was 71 lbs at one point....we went a different route for her weight loss we used a diet medicine called Slentrol...I dont think its for everyone but it worked for us and she got down to 54 pounds over a 6 month period..unfortuntely she weighs around 60 lbs now due to an injury she has and not being able to get exercise.
Make sur eyou are giving him exercise....try to cut back his food...with rosie she gets 3/4 cup twice a day with green beans..I actually just cut her dry food back some more due to her weight gain and not being exercised.
Best thing to do is cut out the scraps....if you want to give him treats while you eat then he will have to learn to like green beans or carrots :)
good luck and hope you get the chunky boy slim

Keep the scraps to veggies only
and cut back the kibble a bit. Extra walks or games of fetch (if you can.)
ice cube treats
if you can trick your dog into thinking ice cubes are a treat - it's a great thing! No calories there. =)
Bullie diet
Our Sophie was 70 lbs and the vet said she had some junk in her trunk, so we put her on a diet. No more dog food treats, she now gets only baby carrots as a treat. She loves them and I like giving them to her. We also cut back on her kibble by 1/4 cup. She is doen to 64 lbs just in time for bikini weather.
Good lick.

Careful on the ice cubes,
Careful on the ice cubes, Bella loves them as well. However a Vet said that they can cause stomach spasms and it could cause bloat. We dropped them as soon as we heard that!!! poor Bella doesn't understand.
