So I've done quite a bit so far to try and combat these tear stains. I bought metal bowls. I bought a purifyier thing you attach to the faucet. I've have been feeding dannon yogurt. I've tried not to switch up the Nature's Variety raw much... I'm nearing the end of my 3 cases though so I'm using it up one box at a time before I buy more. - Anyway, I know it's not been long but Stella's tear stains aren't getting better. I've been whiping her every day with gentle baby wipes and she's lost almost all of her hair in those areas and the skin is so raw that it's still very very red. I'm guessing a red-yeast infection or something. Last night I put diaper rash A&D ointment on those areas and boy, she acted like I'd killed her. She wouldn't open her eyes and look at me, she groaned anything I touched her and she sulked off to hide in her kennel. I made sure not to get any into her eyes but I still worried by her reaction that I might have... I checked twice and nothing. After I was done with her even her nose was running. :( - OH and get this, yesterday she regurgitated grass.... - I always heard dogs ate grass because of digestive issues. I thought raw was supposed to be better? :( She's been on it 2 weeks and is now having problems she never suffered from before :(
I'm going to keep trying and think of this as detoxing but it sure seams like it's taking forever.
In the mean time, does anyone know a gentle way of soothing those raw areas under her eyes?
Poor baby
I use Aveeno baby diaper rash ointment. Wipe with pampers sensitive, pat dry with clean soft paper towel, apply THICK stripe of Aveeno. It isn't scented so it won't burn her eyes and it isn't tacky like A&D so it won't hurt when you put it on. You can also try Neosporin if you have that on hand until you get some Aveeno. Keep the goop on there!

Audrey"s detox
took months! she had this black gooey nasty nose rope for a very very long time. It can really take a few weeks, but Audrey's was months. Try switching the baby wipes, she could be sensitive to something in it. Also, maybe try just keeping it dry, and skip washing for a day or two to see if that helps the irritation. Cloth baby diapers are the BEST for soft, but thin absorbancy. Also, maybe she is having trouble from the yogurt.

oh poor poor baby!
When you buy baby wipes make sure there is not alcohol in them. i wipe gently with baby wipes then use triple-antibiotic cream on the raw wrinkles for a few days until they look less raw. then i wipe again and use a very small amount of desitin on the wrinkles to protect the area. i also use soft facial tissue to pat dry his face after he chews or drinks. good luck!!! let us know how you make out.
