Strange licking habit
Submitted by kimrisa on May 10, 2012 - 7:46amGood morning! I've been noticing since yesterday that Tuffy keeps compulsively darting his tongue upwards (toward his nose) as if he is trying to lick at something. It's almost like a nervous tick. Any ideas of what this can be?

My girl does the same thing. At first I was really worried and called around to all kinds of breaders in my area to find out if they have ever heard of it. I was told to make sure the pocket under her tail was clean maybe it was itchy but the pocket was clean. No one had ever heard of it before. I clean her pocket daily and she still does it. Its been about 3 months now that shes been doing it and its not every minute but shell do it at random times for a good 10 minutes to sometimes half an hour.

Im wondering if it could be an anal gland problem. But she doesnt seem to scoot on the carpet and there os no odor coming from her rear. She also doesnt do it when were in public or at someones house, just at her own home?? Im so confused.
Hmm I was going to say check pocket
or glands. Usually thats it!
