Stanley has cherry eye

And we are about to leave for vacation (with him). I have heard there are home remedies or tricks that can easily fix the problem, but don't want to take him out on vacation if he needs medical attention. This just came up today when we picked him up from daycare. Any advice would be most appreciated!

  Thanks,

Beth

Same here with cherry eye

We've been dealing with the cherry eye around here as well. Since this is our first dog we freaked out right away and made a vet appointment for the next day and then googled to find some answers and came across a you tube video on how to massage it back in.  Tried it and it worked but still brought him to the vet.  The vet said it is very common in bulldogs especially ages 6 months to 10 months and gave us an ointment.  He also said that he doesn't want to do anything with it as long as it can be massaged in and it doesn't bother him, which it doesn't.  As long as it stays in more than it's out we are doing good, or so I'm told.  So we have some days that are better than others but even bad days it only pops out about 3 or 4 times and it goes right back in when we massage his eye.  Goodluck!

Thank you!

I ended up calling the breeder we got him from and he coached me through the massaging and it worked. He also advised us to give him a Benedetto th prevent him from coming back out. So far so good.

Thanks again for your reply!

Beth

We have identified that most recently too

Like you, our breeder helped us to calm our worries and take care of it. He recommended having it repaired when he gets neutered. We give SImon Claritin for his allergies, and if we forget too many times in a row- that is when it is worst. You mean that you gave him Benadryl, right?
