We have two bullies, sisters.
Both are smaller then what most people consider a normal sized bully, 39 lbs and 32 lbs.
Recently the larger one seems to be sptting up about once a day, normally consist of a treat and some water. Definately not what I would consider throw-up.
Sometimes it happens after she drinks a lot, sometimes it just happens.
She doesn't seem to eat as much or drink as much water then in the past but we have never really measured it.
She has lost 3 - 4 lbs. over the last 6-10 months. The vet didn't seem to concerned about the weight loss when we took them in for their yearly test in October.
One of the Vets that work there says that Bullys are just the type that if they think about throwing up they will.
All other activity seems to be normal, maybe sleeps a little more now then she did in the past but I figure that is due to the age.
Trying to get some ideas of what it may be before we take her to the vet, is this just something we have to live with or could it be something worse?
Thanks in advance -
I would get a different Vet
It's not normal for them to throw up often. It sounds like you need a Vet who knows bulldogs. If it were my dogs, I would have their palates and tracheas evaluated.
when my girl was throwing up frequently
we switched her food. I don't think it's normal for ANY kind of dog to throw up frequently!
Cathy and Audrey
Have her looked at by a
Have her looked at by a different vet.

Higgins had this problem for
Higgins had this problem for a while. IM trying to get the bottom of it... Its so hard though. Water is the worst. He just regurges it out. I have to hold the dish and give him little bits at time, letting him catch his breath inbetween. If I let him drink from the dish on his own we regurges it..
That sounds like the same
That sounds like the same exact thing.
Has he lost any weight?
We are researching a different vet.
Thanks for the responses
just a thought......
Jasper use to vomit about once a month {over a period of one year or so} for no apparent reason, vet work up was negative. I just by chance bought an elevated feeder because I like the look of it. In the 14 months that he has been using it he has vomited once. I don't know if such a feeder would help, but it's worth a shot. Best of luck. :)
we are now feeding many times
we are now feeding many times a day. I found a dog food called perfect pet. Its fresh cooked dog food. So far no vomit since. were are feeding six small meals in a 24 hour period. Higgins vomiting was getting really frequent. He is also on prilosec. After learning a lot over the pass few months about what goes into kibble I do not think I will ever feed a dog kibble again. Did you know that the pet food companys can have there expired dog food sent back they can put stuff back in to meet standards and they they repackage it with a new experation date... Horrible
