My bulldog, Romeo, lately has had like a little cough or gag. I'm wondering if it could be from the skin in his throat sticking together. He doesn't drink much water and when he makes the sound I hold an ice cube for him to lick. That seems to help and makes me think it's his soft palate.
I live in So Cal and took him to Butchko for general check up a couple of months ago. It was a Saturday and we didn't see one of the Butchkos, we saw one of the associates. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thx!
I would....
I would have your vet check it out.
Butchko
We also see Dr. Butchko. But in the past 5 yrs of going there we have seen him once only. When we went there recently they suggested the palate surgery. I think it was an unnecessary suggestion. Because she was vomiting on occasion and a slight hack after drinking. Then when we took our new guy there for a check up same suggestion. So im hesitant on there diagnosis. If your guy is a constant hacker, heavy snoring, and raspy breathing then you should consider it. Most bulldogs have an elongated soft palate so it just depends on how bad it is and if it effects there quality of life. Good Luck to you.
I've heard Butchko is the best
We live about 8 hrs from Butchko. Does anyone know of a good bulldog vet in the Central Coast CA area?
