Hi there,
I am a first time Bulldog owner, we have had our Bulldog Elvis for just over two years now and he is suddenly starting to develop skin problems. He has been for 3 vet appointments and had numerous amounts of scrapings (which I hate) but still they cannot determine the cause. He therfore keeps being put on cortezone and antibiotics. The irritation is mainly around his upper back and side of legs but nothing under the body, they appear as dry hairless patches and he scratches them open so it is obviously bothering him. I am now trying flaxseedoil and primrose oil in his food. Any suggestions on what it could be and how we can prevent it so that we don't have to go the cortezone way?
Regards

Can you share a pic?
Onslow had crusty lumps that made his hair fall out. His was a bacterial skin infection aka pyoderma. 1 month of cephlexin cleared him up. Last vet (who I got rid of) kept putting him on steroids. =( It was a bandaid and didn't help him long term. Hope you get to the bottom of it. Maybe try another vet, that's what I had to do.
