Submitted by karonelaine on March 18, 2011 - 7:17pmo.k. i brought the melatonin pills and have loulou out in the sun for the last 2 days. my question is. does anyone know how much to give them. my problem is i talk with the vet and they want to put her on steroids what the hell!!!!. no i will not let her go on this for that. what lisa onslow mom gave me a website and i see you give them sunshine and melatonin for this not steroids. so will be changing her vet. i need to know how uch to give her? and when 1 or 2 times a day?

If it is SFA, I wouldn't give her anything
being outside, fresh air and sunshine will take care of it. As unsightly as it is, there is no discomfort with SFA.

I agree with Lynn.
Being outside will take careof the issue. If you feel like you need to do something more, just try Calm Coat spray and see if that helps.

i'm putting her outside in the sun at least 3 hours a day.at this point i dont know what to do. but sunshine

Don't get too bugged out about it
normal amounts of fresh air and sunshine will take care of it. Be careful with leaving her out too long, the weather is getting warmer and she can overheat real quick.

It's usually given from October 1st to April 1st when it's cold and the days are short.
SFA is usually at it's worse right now. All you need to do is have her in the sunshine and it will grow back.
