After the 3 sequential injections for his acne/infected face/bowels, for which I have not gotten the exact names of the medicines beyond: (1) antibiotic (2) anti-diarrhea med (3) anti-inflammatory, Milton's face cleared right up and so did his tummy. So much that after the first night on the injection they took out the anti-diarrhea med and he's had perfectly fine stools ever since then.
The Dr. put him on 200mg Doxycycline daily, or 100mg twice a day, for 25 days worth and we have a follow-up on 7/19. If he does well on the Dox there's talk of leaving him on it for 6 to 12 months, as I think the doctor is convinced his chin acne had turned into a pretty nasty staph infection. I'm inclined to believe him as I've had MRSA myself, and I know my whole body was just ugh ugh ugh while I had it. Since his face has started looking better, Milton is feeling 200% better, eating, running, playing, jumping, vocalizing, spazzing out, and is back to being his puppy self.
Thank you to everyone who took an interest in his treatment and I'll work on finding out the meds they gave him in those injections and will post updates about his treatment.

Great news!
I'm so glad to hear that Milton is feeling better and that his acne and loose stools are under control! My vet put Tuffy on another round of cephalexin for his chin acne and also the cyst between his toes. We asked him about an antibiotic injection/anti-inflammatory but he said because Tuffy's case was on the mild side that could do more harm than good at this point. So hopefully the second time's the charm for us with Cephalexin.
Tell Milton that Tuffy says hi!
Oh well I am so glad to hear
Oh well I am so glad to hear that Tuffy's acne is considered mild. That's a good thing! Yeah, I wish I had pictures of poor Milton's chin, it had just gone from what you'd probably call 'normal' acne to swollen oozy painful chin in the space of a few days. Now that he's on the oral Dox, I am seeing a little bump here or there but we're just keeping his face washed and stuff and nothing's coming to a head. I guess the injection was sort of a heat of the moment urgent thing to get the infection under control for Milton.
I just love your pic of Tuffy by the way, such a handsome boy.

Did Tuffy have pink spots also?
places on his face where the black pigment seemed to have rubbed off almost? I thought there was a dog here with that issue.
I noticed right under Audrey's nose getting pinker and pinker. I can't figure out why!
