Seizure

Last night Duke woke me up having a seizure, he had either jumped or fallen off the bed and when i sat up he was on his back and then on his side in a

full blown seizurer, I stroked him and stayed with him the whole time. When he started coming out of it he tried to stand and could only grawl on this hind

legs, I thought he was heading for the door to go outside so I ran and put his cable leash on him and then all hell broke loose, he started barking and snarling

at me, I tried talking to him but this just caused him more distress. I had to grab Sal and lock him up so that Duke would not attack  him. He acted as though

he was totally insane. I cannot begin to explain the terror I felt for him and the others in the house.

Finally he calmed down and I was able to talk to him and able to pet and comfort him. He was so scared and panting, he then followed me everywhere and

has just been sleeping most of the time. He is 6 yrs old and has never had a seizure or any other medical conditions. Can anyone give me any advice?

I have a call into the vet.

wow!

Jan, I'm sorry!  I have no idea, it sounds like he was probably super scared and freaked out when he was acting aggressive.  Please keep us posted on how things go with the vet!

Oh my goodness!

How horrific!  I'm so sorry you guys had to deal with that.

Yep - you have to get the vet involved.  I would think he'll want to do a complete work-up (labs, possible CT scan or MRI?).

Please keep us posted - I'll be thinking good thoughts for you!

Judy, what did your vet say?  Do you have any ideas about your boy?
