Runny nose

Hello it's been a while since I last posted in BDW, I think the last time was about 6 years ago...

My bulldog (Lola) is now 8.5 years, recently I noticed a clear discharge from her nose.

I went to the vet with her and we tried 2 different antibiotics which did not help.

I am suspecting an allergy…

The thing is that her skin always had problems and her eyes are usually with some infection but her nose was never runny.

I am giving her special eye drops every day to make sure she has tears (A test we did a while ago showed her eyes were dry).

And I am feeding her with Hills Ultra Z/D hypo allergenic.

This food was suggested at the veterinarian hospital years ago when I took her for allergies tests.

I am afraid to change her food to something else as she might get worse.

I would appreciate your inputs.

Thanks,

Elad

Clear Runny Nose

is likely not to much of a problem and I wonder why your vet even suggested antibiotics.  Did the vet run any cultures on the discharge to see if there was an infection or bacteria? Green or yellow discharge is infection.

There is a possibility that the eye drops are causing some additional nose discharge or she could have seasonal allegry issues.  Unfortunately allergies in dogs can get worse as they age, just like humans.
