Runny Eyes

My 2.5yr old bully Burger has been having the runniest eyes that I have EVER seen. I cannot keep them dry to save my life (around his eye too)!!!!  It's making his face smelly and now he's smart enough to know that when I go for the washcloth and baby shampoo - he runs under the bed (smarty pants knows that bottle). I dont want to put something on his face that will burn or further irritate his eyes.

He had entropian surgery in 2009 but the runny eyes have gotten progressively worse.  He eats TOTW Pacific Stream and drinks filtered water....  WHAT DO I DO??? I hate to see him with this irritated face, he rubs his face into the carpet so I'm sure it's annoying him.

Since it smells he may have an infection in the fold or eyes

And I would take him to the vet if your bully is holding their eyes closed and blinking and winking.  If you can't take him in I would keep his face clean with sensitive baby wipes and use Artificial Tears  (without the redness reliever because it constricts the blood vessels in the eyes) from walmart is where I found it, two drops 3 times a day for 5 days and if your Bully is 50 lbs give 50 mg of benedryl 2 x a day for 5 days and then re-evalluate.  You can taper down the benedryl to 25 mg after 2 weeks if you keep him on it this maybe an indoor allergy.  You seem to be doing everything right.

But first do a good face cleaning with antibacterial soap and carefull of the eyes to get the smell out.

Runny Eyes

My Bueller has runny eyes, he had two disticia operations but allergies were the main reason for the running. Cyproheptadine dries him up pretty good but I have to wipe his folds at least twice a day, put neosporane when they get stinky.  But it's just a twice daily thing I manage with Bueller. Gold Bond Powder helps too but not sure it's good for around the eyes. I have some Gen-one cream from Vet it helps with itching too. But I rarely use that as it has corteson in it which isn't good for infections but helps with itching.
