ROYAL CANINE/TEAR STAINS??

I had not noticed any tear stains on Loca till she had the cherry eye problem happened, it's staying in for the most part now:).  But her eye she got the scratch/bite on is the worst with the tear stains.  The left eye is just damp very light brownish tint to it.  Her chin and pee pee appears to have that same red yeast on it as the scratch/bite eye.  I started all my bulldogs on the Nu Vet last week and yesterday I started slowly switch them over to the Natural Balance Sweet Potato and Bison.  It was kinda a bummer because I have a ton of RC left over and was almost about to qualify for the free 10th bag :(  Lucky my adult dog china likes it:)  China got spoiled because she always wants what ever the other dogs are having..  Anyone notice tear stains with Royal Canine?   We also are doing the filtered water as of today.  Oh and I was concerned with the most puppy food has DHA in it and so I got some fish oil to put in their food as well.  Now id like these tear stains to go away like yesterday is there anything I can do that is safe in the mean time to speed up the process?

RC is not a good food and...

you are doing the right thing with the grain free.  It can take 6 weeks to see a difference after changing foods.  And I've learned with Newman, who had horrible tear stains when we got him, that sometimes you have to change the protein source too.  We had him on salmon/sweet potato and switched him to lamb/potato and he got the stains back.  Went back to salmon and they cleared up.

Sadie's got them since

we had to switch her to the RC for her urinary issues.  I see the vet tomorrow and will be discussing switching to something better and using other preventative measures to keep her ph down.  She's never had tear stains until this switch.
