Rocco as well as all your bullies will be joining the neuter club!

Sat. night he went after my boxer (Max 11) and I caught him before it escalated - then Max got on the couch and Rocco went under the coffee table and before I knew what was happening BAM he got max & with me breaking it up got me to! Me & Max were bleeding. So that's it - nuts be gone - PLEASE tell me this will help somewhat!!!! I'm calling vet tomorrow......

Neutering alone may not be the answer.....

Hopefully Lynn King will see this, or you can try to contact her.  Each situation is different, so be alert to their behaviors.  You should get some training--for you and them.  While sometimes they will make up after a tiff, occasionally certain pairs can never be trusted together again, once they "see eye to eye".  Good luck!

While neutering is a good idea...

I think you will need some behavior training as well.  As Mickie said, I would not have them in a situation where they have the opportunity to fight.  A certified trainer can help...but you need to keep them separated when they are not in a controlled environment.  It's dangerous for the dogs, and for you.

I also think that Rocco thinks Me & my oldest daughter are his!

and that's why he is doing this, cuz he seems to not like max to go in my daughters room. Max used to sleep on her bed and Rocco will go & look in there to see if he's in there. They used to get along. I can walk them together, actually I did that day they fought, and there was no problems.

If Max has been allowed to sleep in your daughters room

continue to let him do so in peace. Just put up a baby gate to keep Rocco out.

Also, because your Boxer is older, failing eyesight and hearing is preventing him from recognizing Rocco's warnings, which may be one of the reasons Rocco is escalating in his behavior. Rocco is giving warnings long before he attacks and probably thinks that Max is purposefully ignoring them, hence the escalation.

But for everyone's safety and sanity, keeping them separated is probably the best way to go.

neutering

i have 4 males.....3 are neutered due to retained testicles..health issues...... one is not neutered....charlie was neutered at 2 years...he still humps and can be more dog agressive then my intact  male.... they all get along they do have boundires and wilson is the leader of the pack no question....when he comes they all move but he was also my first bully the others came after and so i respect the fact that he is the boss....if their is a fight its mostly noise and pushing around...i never interfer as its pretty rare i make sure no one is getting hurt and once i yell knock it off their done ....and the next thing their all sound asleep together....your boy is just trying to up himself in the pack over the older dog...all natural doggie feeling...but if he is also trying to push himself beyond you to be boss you could have a issue if you neuter or not....i would keep him off the furniture...if he is on and you want to sit down he gets off first and you sit down...then invite him up by your invitation only...i would crate 10 min a day....little things just to let him know...your the boss....your the provider..live by my rules.....males can get really pushy really fast....but in general their just lovers not fighters

Rocco!!!! Anyone have a good book recommendation?

How old is he?  Do you think it is something he will outgrow?  I dont know if nuetering will help the aggressiveness or not...a good training book could help, but i dont know one.

I had a long talk with Lynn King today! (thanks Lynn) and

have already started. We both agreed that because of Max's old age and poor eyesight & hearing - I'm not going to push them to get along.... Just let Max be in peace and keep them separated.... I AM though going to start working on Rocco!!!!! And he is going to find out who IS boss in this house.. I have an appointment next week with vet, and I'm going to make an appointment to get him done. It's got to help a little anyway...
