Are these okay to take together? Betty's on benedryl, it is apparently what worked today (at least until tonight, so maybe not) for her comfort level. They think her inflamed palate came possibly from an allergen. Once inflamed, it allows mucous and flem and then maybe she aspirated that, not sure. I need to talk to Tom, I only got the info on my way out the door to work and they said to giver her more lasix and add benedryl. She's normally on rimadyl for arthritis, but I discontinued it because she was on a low dose of prednisone last week, but she's not on pred any longer and I'm thinking the rimadyl may help the inflamation?

Rimadyl does help with inflation, somewhat. Depending on how
much she already has in her system, you might want to increase the benedryl. Does she have a temp, or is she hot (ambiant temp of room where she is) ?
And always Winston, gone but not forgotten!
Her temp is always normal
And I'm running the ac in the house all the time for her, so the ambient room temp is cool. The vet today said to give her two 25mg benedryl twice a day. So, she just got two more. She hasn't had a rimadyl for about 6 days and discontinued the Temeril-P (small % of pred) two days ago.

Dawn given what you are going throug with Miss Betty
To be on the safe side I would call the vet. He will know for sure if it's ok to give both meds.
I'm glad to hear she had a better day/night so far. Sounds like she is on her way to recovering.
Hugs to you both.

Rimadyl and Benedryl are okay to take together..
Belle has been on both per the vet's instructions.
