Good morning! Tuffy has been licking at his paws lately and today I noticed the pads of one foot are very red. Is suspect allergies. Any suggestions for remedies and a safe ointment that I can put on his feet?
I gave Molly some allergy meds from the vet. She said it is more likely environmental than food since shes been eating the same thing for awhile and the pollen has been crazy here. Anyway, I also heard about soaking the paws in Epsom salt to relieve the irritation. I actually had to buy these rubber booties for Molly and cover one of her paws to stop her from licking because it is a vicious cycle-the more they lick the more it itches! Oh and wipe is paws after he walks outside, especially in the grass. Hope he feels better too!
Soaking his feet helped and no more licking his paws but now he's doing some strange compulsive licking thing with his tongue toward his face. I swear, lately it seems like every week there's a new issue! The life of a bully mommy, I suppose....!
