My 11yo male has been diagnosed with possible neoplasia or autoimmune disease. He was rushed to animal hospital for rectal bleeding after a fecal exam by vet. Blood work was all screwy. But with his age we opted not to undergo expensive diagnostic testing. We did discover thru that he has an enlarged prostate and he has not been neutered. Has anyone experienced anything like this? The bleeding was possibly froma polyp that ruptured during fecal exam. Any input would be appreciated.
I'm confused
What does a fecal exam have to do with rectal bleeding? In a fecal exam they take some feces, put it on a slid and look at it under a microscope or they culture it. Are you saying that the vet did somekind of rectal exam and then he started bleeding?
Yes. Vet did fecal exam and
Yes. Vet did fecal exam and possibly ruptured a polyp.
Enlarged prostate
I know a couple of humans that had this problem and they swear by apple cider vinegar. See what the vet thinks, here's an article. Maybe you could just put some in his water.
