Hello!
My bulldog, Higgins, is a year old. We adopted him about 3 months ago. When we brought him home his chest, face and paws were red. Thinking it was a possible food allergy we changed his food and started him on benadryl to see if it would clear everything up. At first it seemed to be helping and he would only flare up when he had been chewing his toy or running around. But now his chest is a constant red rashy spot that has started go bald. We plan on taking him to the vet soon but was wondering if anyone has advice on what we could do until we see the vet. It doesn't seem to bother him at all. He never itches or licks at his paws nor does he seem like he is uncomfortable or in pain.
Here is a picture of him:
it could be demodex
you can ask your vet to do a skin scrape & they can tell you for sure. good luck! he sure is cute =)
His age being one I would guess
that its not demodex but an allergy. Mine had scabbing and hair loss, we scraped and it was clean. Allergies. Ugh. Good luck!
could also be
Have his thyroid checked... it's a blood test. They loose fur and skin is red if they have a low thyroid.... maybe it's not, but never hurts to check it out since he is not itching it at all.

Hey guys,
Thanks for the responses. We took Higs to the vet today. He has demodex and was prescribed antibiotics to clear his skin up and another type of med to kill the mites.
