PVC's or VPC's.....

It has been a while since I posted but could use someof yall's wisdom. We went to get Spike's teeth cleaned today and the ekg showed what the vet called vpc's (or PVC's) they were regular at every 4th beat. He could listen & hear and feel the missed beats. He cancelled the dental today and consulted a cardiologist who recommended Sotalol twice a day and we go back for an ekg on Tuesday. He said that if they were gone we can do the cleaning. Does anyone have any experience with this??

The only meds that he takes are :

Flexicose (glucosamine/chondroitin/msm)

heartgaurd

comfortis(just started)

Has anyone had any experience with this??

Thanks in advance,

Ashley

The vet said that the

The vet said that the cardiologist recomended a very low dose betablocker to supress the pvc's and he would be able to tell on tuesday if the were working. He said that there could be multiple causes but if the meds worked we could leave him on them & keep rechecking and then wean him off & see if they return. If they are still present then we will be refered to a cardiologist.

My concern is that they might be stress related b/c i have always stayed with my bullies for EVERYTHING. But, they had an emergency in the back so he went solo for his EKG. But my vet seemed to think that they were to regular?? idk??

But, he is doing great. just gave him his 3rd dose. I don't notice any difference in behavior, good pulse, normal activity. I'm just going keep a close eye until Tuesday.
