Problem with Boo-Boo
Submitted by IndyBulldog™ on November 19, 2010 - 1:13pmBuddy has a screw-tail, for lack of a better term, and I clean his tail pocket well, even sniffing the wipes to gage how it is. It's very clean and he seems pretty good there, but Brother has taken it upon himself to clean Buddy's Boo-Boo for him, over clean even, as it is sore I'm sure. I stop them as soon as I see this happening, and cage one for a while to help them with the breaking of this nasty habit. But I wonder could it be Buddy's anal glands? I tried to clean them, but nothing came out. Thanks, in advance.

He seems better. I used some A&D last night, and Neo-Sporin this morning, and stopped Brother everytime he got to sniffin'. So it looks better. I make Brother come sit down, and if he trys again he goes to the cage , not for punishment, just to keep them apart for 5 or 10 minutes, and they seem to settle down. Hope a little attention stops this.

One more suggestion is
Boudreauz's Butt Paste. You can find it in the baby section at drugstores. It works well when Kofi's nose rope gets a little irritated.
cork screw tail
My Bella, has a cork screw tail and I clean it daily, but her vet is suggesting that we get a portion of her tail removed to insure that it doesnt get infected, even though its cleaned daily....Im seriously thinking about having this done, b/c I want the best for her....
