Tank started squinting Friday in just one eye plus it was red with some discharge so Saturday we took him to an emergency clinic as we were out of state. They couldn't stain the eye as he is not a "good patient" (very anxious) but felt it was a corneal abrasion and gave him eyedrops which we started Saturday. He is barely squinting now, not rubbing his eye anymore, less red, less discharge. Just a little glassy. I have not brought him for follow up to stain the eye because of the definite improvement and also because the vet always traumatizes him. Just wondering if this is a good decision; of course I wouldnt want him to develop a corneal ulcer but don't think he has because he is improved. Thoughts?
I would take him in again just to be sure.
He can be anxious all he wants but it's really for his own good.

Any Greyish spots?
If there are no grey spots or visible divits in his eye then I would continue with the drops the em vet gave you for at least 2 weeks. If you see any grey then he needs to go to your vet for a stain to make sure you have the correct eye drops/ointment.
That is what I would do if he was my dog.
make that follow up visit
dont just feel its fixed...eye problems can get worse...and without a stain their is no way a vet can see how deep that ulcer is....charlie was on three different meds for ulcer...we went every month for 5 months...eye problems are not something to take lightly....get an appt and make sure that the meds you are using are enough...
