Two weeks after Kilmore passed we find out that Winnie has possible bone cancer. She was limping more worse than normal (from her elbow issue), so I took her in tonight. The vet did a xray and found what looks to be like bone cancer. We now have to wait until Monday when they do a bone biopsy. Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciate. The vet didn't think the first defense of amutation would be right for Winnie, since her other elbow on the better leg does have minor arthritis. Has anyone had their bulldogs front leg amutated and been fine?
Sarah :(
How upsetting...
this news is. We are thinking of you and praying that all works out for you and Winnie.
DEFINATELY a second opinion if possible
Wow - Crushing - even if there is a possiblity it could be something along those lines - Get a second opinion if all possible.
I'm thinking of all of what I went through (Emotions and Physically) when I was first diagnosed (Rick speaking here) however, that was 14 years ago.
You are in our thoughts and hearts,

We Are
Our vet was going to have another doctor there look at it (who specializes in cancer) and then he was going to send the xrays to another vet at another location for her to take a look. That is one of the great things about our vet, is they always offer to send xrays, etc to another vet without us even having to think about it. I also have a call into a Bulldog specialist to get his feed back on what he might feel works best for bulldogs. Trying to keep good hopes, but struggling with it.

bone cancer is a very fast cancer....
i have had in my rotties...one nothing then a gulf ball than a basket ball...hopefully you may have a slow growing one...very surprised your vet is "waiting"..... if it is bone canser...first do a chest x ray as i said this is fast cancer...if the lungs show no signs of the diease spresading take the leg....sadly if the lungs are showing....you may have about a week or two....
dawn delt alot with cancer but i am not sure if it was her rottie or her bulldog.....
let us know
You would probably do best with an oncologist...
they deal with nothing but cancer. Sending prayers for your girl.
