Palate can keep growing??

I saw the discussion below about phlemy coughing and now I wonder about Audrey. She is 2 now and in the morning she has a wet sounding cough too. Her palate was fine and had no problems with her spay, vet never mentioned any issues, and he did look at it carefully when we first got her. I was wondering if she was coughing more because it's spring and her nose has been runny, now I will worry about her breathing when she plays....

Always something to worry about!

Sounds like alot of bullies have this phlemy issue

I thought just Sally was gunky in the morning, but after reading many posts, it sounds like alot of you have bullies experiencing this problem.  I absolutely can't feed Sally first thing in the morning, or she will regurgitate her food because she is so full of phlem.  If anyone has any suggestions, please feel free to send me a personal message.  This is my first bulldog, so any advice is appreciated!

Yes.. palates do continue to grow unitl the dog is completely

mature. Most vets recommend waiting on palate surgeries until that time unless it is causing health issues. Watch the runny nose and cough incase she is getting a cold :O(

Oh yes it can keep growing

A lot of dogs have the surgery at a very young age and end up needing a second surgery later.

yup, my kibby has been having issues every morning for

about a week... but it seems to only be in the morning-its pretty scary too, seems like she is trying to throw up for like a minute or two and she looks all miserable... i hope she is not getting a cold.. i gave her some extra baby tangerines to help clear the phlegm and an aspirin for 3 days to see if it would help.... if it doesnt clear up by next week, i may bring her in just to make sure its not something more serious... my vet has been checking her palate everytime we go, he says it will always keep changing with age. hopefully its just allergies again, my vet is very nice but i am sure he thinks i am a little too worried sometimes because we may actually be there about once every 2 or 3 months because there is always something going on with kibby!

Ozzy too

He had his palate checked when he was neutered and the vet said it was good she used the larger of the 2 tubes they use for bullys and she said it was never in the way, but he is really phelmy and does throw up this white foamy stuff.  This usually happens when he is getting execise--like the exercise is helping him cough it up.  Humm I will have to have the vet check it out when he goes in for his yearly next month.
