OMG YUCK!!!!!!!!!!!! Have not had to deal with this in years!!!

Bailey tends to like to eat on towels, blankets and loves the bathroom trash YUCK - so if I know she has tried to eat or I think she has ate something besides what we give her we're on Poop Patrol.

The other night I opened her mouth because I saw her chewing and she has some toilet paper, got out what I could see and that was the end of it.   The next morning she pooped and I saw something white I looked closer because something was just “off” about it.  I waited a minute and OMG it moved.   I know every crack and crease of the dog, but a dog having worms CREEPS me out!!!  My husband did not believe me until he looked at it.   It was on the flat side and a little bigger than a grain of rice.

Called the Vet ASAP, they said it sounded like a tapeworm – that she must have ate a flea.  She’s on flea meds but they said it didn’t matter she ate a flea somehow.   I picked up Dront, they said it would kill any kind of worm.   I asked them if I needed to treat my other dog-  they said no, that it could not be passed from Dog to Dog unless they ate each others poop .  They also told me that we could not get them unless I ate the poop.  I asked did I need to wash bedding - they again said no unless she poops there.  Does this sound right?

sounds right...

Winston managed to pick up some form of flat worm last spring...it was DISGUSTING (and I did a lot of googling of butt-worms to figure them out).  A couple doses of de-wormer and he was back up to speed.  No major side effects and the other bully we roommed with did not need or take the  meds and she was totally fine.  I have no idea how he got them, but leave it to a bully to manage...

No sweat...it'll pass now that she's on meds and everyone (and every-dog) will be just fine. :)
