Oliver swallowed part of his stuffed animal

We have an "indestructable" stuffed penguin he likes to suck on.  Last night he was chewing on the flipper and next thing i know i heard him make the mouth smacking noise he makes when hes picked up something he shouldnt have and is trying to swallow it.  I stuck my finger in his mouth but too late.  Its not too big a piece, about an inch long by half an inch wide.  He hasnt thrown up or is having any difficulty eating so im not too concerned but will be relieved when i see it come out the other end.  Hes pooped once this morning, no sign.  Can anyone with experience tell me how long it took to see somethign your dog swallowed pass through?  Thanks

That has happened to mine before

except he usually doesn't pass it unless its very very small.  It sits in his belly for a day or two then he throws it up.  It can irritate their bowels, last time this happened (a few weeks ago, piece of sock) :(  he had loose stools for a few days after he threw it up.  Just make sure he's eating drinking and pooping normally.  Also, excess panting/drooling can be a sign of pain - watch him carefully.

If he stops eating and seems lethargic...

that would be signs of a blockage.  Chances are he'll either pass it through or puke it up.

He was panting a bit last

He was panting a bit last night which worried me but it was also pretty warm.  Anyways, held breakfast and lunch down no problem.  Took him out after lunch and took a nice big turd with his buddy's flipper in it.  Ive never been so happy to see his poop.

He'll probably puke it.... My boxer is gross -

I won't give details of "what" he ate cuz it's disgusting, but after a couple days it came back up in the yard & my daughter called me to tell me max threw up "something" I got home and asked where it was, she showed me - Let's just say he wasn't the only one puking that day! I puked 3 times!!! LMAO
