Old school question.....picture
Submitted by newtoenglishbulldogs on June 13, 2011 - 9:09pmI know this is back to bulldogs basics but this time I wanted to show a picture. I don't know how to fix this raw area. I clean Gemma's face daily and now it seems to be getting raw all the time and sometimes when I clean it it is a dried yellow color. My poor girl, I think i'm more bothered by it than she is. What can I do to help her??

Stop cleaning her face
it doesn't need to be cleaned daily, it will heal on it's own.

You can use desitin..........
You probably just rubbed the poor things face raw and the desitin will make it feel better. If it's worse than it looks, you can also try triple antibiotic ointment which you can pick up at Walmart. Good Luck!

I took that picture last night and it already looks better. Mike, you are probably right. I think sometimes I try to do the right thing with daily maintainence and I may be doing too much. Thanks, I may try the desitin if it doesn't look better tomorrow.
Desitin
You can use any diaper cream. I hated Desitin because if they rub it gets white everywhere and it's very hard to clean up. I keep Boudreauxs Butt Paste in my doggie grooming box but rarely use it. But it will help since he is pretty red and irritated.
I never face wash daily. Infact I don't even wash faces weekly, LOL! Only if I think they need a face wash. I do dry chins regularly after drinking, especially Kohl, because he gets soaked all down his chest.
I was gonna suggest
Apple cider vinegar and water mix to wipe face , as I thought it might be yeast.
But I waited cause I wasn't sure.
