NutriSource

Hey guys I was wondering if anyone could offer up any info on this brand of food.  My breeder started my little guy on it and he's been on ever since.  I have been reading all about Grain Free and this company has come out with a grain free version, but I haven't heard much about it.  "Lilttle" Tohrment is 30#s now and 5 months old...where there's white on his face I have started to noticed a tad a staining...but nothing much.  Thoght I would try to stop a problem before it started.  Any info on the brand NutriSource would help.

It seems

Everyone agrees grain free is better for Bulldogs, and I think it's skin issues that are one reason.

The tear stains seem to come and go, winter less, summer more, most people suggest using a Brita to filter the water.

Some folks wipe them with all kinds of different stuff, mixes that I didn't find helpful on my boys, but others swear by.

I'm pretty sure there is info. on tearstains on the site.

Good luck.  That's a pretty pup.  I know you want the best and I'm glad you're here.

I'm funny

I hadn't noticed both dogs look white in this pic....Buddy is on the left.

Here is something I found on the site.

Check the eyes to see that they are clean and normal. They should be well formed and bright. You will notice any changes if they occur. If there is excess drainage, yellow, green or a foul smell draining from the eyes see your vet. Tear stains is a debated issue that has many possible causes and cures. The methods used to rid the stains varies from breeder to breeder and vet to vet. This is the price we pay for those beautiful sourmug faces, TEAR STAINS. Here is one formula that has been proven to work well. To prevent this from happening wash the area daily with warm water and a wash cloth, if this fails and your Bulldog gets tear stains then try this: Mix equal parts of hydrogen peroxide and white milk of magnesia with enough corn starch to make a paste. Apply this mixture to the stained area 2 times a day until it is starts to go away(about 7-9 days), then apply once a day(for the next 1-2 weeks or until it is gone). You should see results starting in about 7 days. After the stain is gone stop using the mixture and just wash with warm water and dry to keep it looking nice.

Thanks!

I am on my way to go shopping now and I did read about the MOM mixture so it's on my list.  Glad to know it's has worked for you as well.  Your little guys are adorable!  Thanks for sharing the pix!  Now, the trick of getting Tohr to hold still while I clean the ropes  ;) I am sure as he gets older he will hold still better....puppies I tell ya!  Oh, the joys of owning bullies!  But gosh how we love them so!!!!!!

Nose rope

I don't think ya put the MOM under the nose rope just on tear stains.

I just wipe and dry under with a soft cloth, maybe damp first one and then dry.

If he is doing good

on it then just keep him on it.  He looks nice and white, no tear stains that I can see in that picture.

Don't change what isn't broken :)

Yep yep! I agree completely!

If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

got it

Okay so when I do start the MOM mixture only place it on the stains (gee..this is why I came here..you guys are awesome)  not on the ropes!  I just started noticing the reddish/brown staining just this last week, so the pic doesn't do his stains any good for viewing, but I will try this mixture and see how it goes.
