northern guy needs help

I have recently joined BDW because I saw some posts regarding skin disorders on bullies. One post was from Coleen and Julia and the other was from Helga. My 7 year old bully is having a terrible time with a skin disorder that looks like Canine ringworm...but isn't. She has been to 4 different vets, but no success. Her thyroid has been checked, they have checked for mange....lots of pills but no cure. She has had this for 3 years and now it is spreading to her jowls and feet. If anyone can help please PM me so that we can help this poor girl. Thanks

What are you feeding her?

I've found that grain free foods really help with skin, tear stains, etc.  We feed Taste of the Wild Pacific Stream which is salmon.

I agree. Right now, get the dog on a grain free food.

You can give Benedryl to help with itchy skin, but that will only cover the problem for a short time. Give a grain free food a try, and give it up to 8 weeks to see a change.

Have the Vets done cultures and skin scrapes?

Have you done any allergy testing?

Are you using any flea/tick preventative? My cousin just went through something similar with her Chi and it turns out it was caused by the Comfortis she was using for flea preventative.

I would suggest to also use a grain free dog food and chlorhexiderm shampoo.

Could be a million reasons

Could be the food, laundry soap, cleaners, flea/tick preventive, has she been tested for staph infection?

Poor girl,

Good luck
