New? skin issue
Submitted by willtank on August 22, 2011 - 3:43pmMy buddy Mac and I were playing on Saturday while I moved some people stuff around. We roughhoused and had a good time, with no issues. We were in each others face and all over each other. So on Sunday i go to play with him again and a patch of skin about as big as a 50 cent piece falls off of his head between his eyes and it looks all mucusy underneath it! I saw nothing the day before, we even cleaned his wrinkles! We are hitting the vet today, I know there are a lot of skin issues, but holy crap, one day? I had never heard of anything like this yet on here. the skin underneath was yellow mucousy smelly and nasty. Looks and smells like he had an infection under the skin that finally popped through and he lost his hair. Anyone ever seen that?

sounds like an infection that was festering under the skin. Good that it finally broke open.

Maybe all the more experienced owners out there can tell me what happened. He lost that patch of hair kind of like taking a toupee off between his eyes. Then we cleaned it really well with non alcholic acne pads and a damp cloth and then dried it. I could see hair underneath the "toupee". In three days you could not even tell that anything had happened to him without looking really close. I am really confused, but happy too.
I think personally that he somehow did it too himself so we would pay more attention to him than the other dogs for a few days. The spoiled brat sleeps in my sons room has two different dog beds and roams the house when he wants to.
