Though it doesn't work for all dogs, I use sweet potato to firm him up. You could also go with the 100% natural pumpkin (not pumpkin pie mix) that was my first choice but mine won't eat that I think it's too bitter.
I just take a half a sweet potato skin on and zap it in the microwave and mix it in his food. (cutting back a bit of kibble to make up for adding the potato) Hope your kiddo feels better!

It is for my dads chocolate lab...Cue. Rememebr her? I found her here in Texas in road construciton on teh highway, and over Thanksgiving we drove her up to my dad in Boulder. She loves it there, and he thinks she is the best dog he has ever had:-)
But she has had some health issues, one of which is this onset of diarhea, caused by his room mates parents, who are Japanese and fed her some of their own cooked food. YIKES! She didn't handle that very well:-)

This is for Cue, the Choc. Lab mny dad has now. She is having some tummy issues after my dad's company this week fed Cue some very bad for her food. Japanese food to be exact:-) Didn't sit well with her, and now my dad is fighting this issue. Been going on for a few days. I told him...tomorrow, firm stool or vet.
Thanks for the info. I will pass it on. Hope you are well?

I'll let you know!
Well, my dad and I just hung up from talking a minute. Cue had some rice with boiled chicken, a little dose of pepto, some sweet potato, and some yogurt for dinner. First trip out was a little better. Then my dad fed her this morning...pork tenderloin with rice with pedialyte with pepto with sweet potato. I would get diarhea from all that too! And that is what happened to Cue, she has watery poo now instead of regular diarhea. I told him to stop it!! He overcompensates for her not having kibble by feeding her all this STUFF. I told him yesterday....just rice and chicken, and either the sweet potato or the pepto. Not all of it! And the pork tenderloin this morning, ugh...I am sure that made her even worse.
My dad...God love him, but he won't listen:-( So again I said...nothing but boiled chicken and a little rice, with some yogurt and either the pepto or the sweet potato. Maybe he will listen this time.

Amy, I always use Immodium and...
always keep some flagyl on hand (Ollie gets colitis when he's nervous). I give one immodium every 8 hours and also a bland diet with pumpkin.
I'm a big fan
Of immodium. If the diarrhea has occurred more than 3 times, I usually give 2 to start.
If there's any vomiting with the diarrhea, I like to give pepto caplets.
Uh... is this for you or the dog? lol
