She was recently having multiple seizures so I brought her into the Neurologist at the local university vet clinic. They started a drip IV to help sedate her so the seizures would stop which is their normal protocol what cluster seizures start. They said they would like to see her seizure free for 48 hours on this iv drip before letting her go home and starting a normal seizure medication. Unfortunately this morning I was contacted saying she threw up and has Aspiration pneumonia in her right lung which was confirmed by a chest x-ray. She is currently in an oxygen chamber at around 50% and has her O2 saturation level around 94% and I am worried sick. I cant eat, sleep, function, or concentrate all I think about is my Bully fighting for her life for the next 48 hours which are the most critical. Has anyone else been in this situation and have tips on what they can do? She is currently on an IV for fluids and antibiotics, in the oxygen chamber, they are suctioning up anything coming out of her mouth, and doing coupage on her. I am so worried sick she wont make it home and could use all the prayers and advice from someone that has been through this. Thanks so much!!
