need help identifying spot on skin

Hi-

Today I noticed this spot on Molly's back leg.  It is small pink circle (looks like bald spot) but is a little scaly too. There is another one on the other back leg but it is very small.  The spot is also right over what seems like a bone or joint.  I'm wondering if it is allergy related.  She has been licking and chewing her paws, which are pretty red in between the toes.  She has also been reverse sneezing more frequently and has hives a couple times per week.  When the food recall happened, I changed her over to a new food that has grains in it.  It is the first time she has ever had grain in her food or treats, so I'm wondering if thats' the problem.  Let me know if anyone has an idea about what this is...the rest of her skin is fine. Thanks!

It could be a grain allergy...

or maybe a staph infection.  Probably needs to be looked at, it's always hard to tell what they are.

Feet Licking

and hives I'd be finding a different food.  Is her body itchy?  What are you feeding her? Does she sleep alot?  Is she crated? Crate pads, beds or none?

Her body does not seem itchy

Her body does not seem itchy and usually just 2-3 pop up at a time.  I already ordered a bag of Taste of the Wild that she used to be on, so it will be here by tonight. I had switched her over to Go! Salmon and Oatmeal because so many other foods were on that recall list at the time.   I don't think she sleeps a lot...she is awake and pretty active the majority of the time when I'm home but probably does sleep more when she's alone.  I don't crate her anymore, so she sleeps on the couch, her bed, or on the floor.  Hopefully, with the food switch all of these issues will decrease!  I'm most concerned about the fact that she will occasionally spit up some of her food because I don't want her to aspirate it when that happens!

None of my guys can tolerate oatmeal...

just remember it takes 6 weeks to notice a difference if you go back to TOTW.

Go vs Now

I would have switched her to "Now" made by the same company which is their no grain food.  I used to feed "Now" with great luck.  Since you are going back to TOTW then your problems may be solved with the switch.  Let's hope so.

The foot licking and chewing IMO is allergy related, may or may not be food related.  She could be allergic something outside.  But if she didn't have problems before on TOTW then it is likely the food.

Thanks for the advice! I do

Thanks for the advice! I do think it is allergy related. She always had a few allergy related things but they were mild. I saw the Now one but i think it either had chicken (which I try to avoid) or the protein is higher than I wanted.  I can't remember.  Anyway TOTW was fine and I never would have switched if it wasn't for that recall!  thanks again hopefully my girl will be feeling a bit more comfortable soon!

Now - Turkey, Salmon & Duck

and protein level 26%.  TOTW 25%, Salmon and fish meal

now I remember...when I was

now I remember...when I was trying to figure out her allergies, I was looking for a food with 1 protein so it could be narrowed down easier if she had a reaction.  Thanks for the info though! I put her back on TOTW lamb which she's done well on before.  Fingers crossed her itchy feet start to get better!
