Need an ear cleaner

Does anyone have a suggestion for a good ear cleaner?  Roxy's ears have yucky brown wax build-up that I am having a hard time cleaning out.

I tried a more natural cleaner with the main ingredient being vinegar.  That did not do anything.  Now I am trying one with alcohol in it.  Still not really working, but I've just done it a couple of times.

Do I need to put the cleaner in for a number of days in a row?  I generally put in a dropperful & rub it around for a little while, then wipe out her ears.

She does not have an ear infection.  I don't think she has ear mites either.

Any suggstions would be appreciated.

If you have a petsmart near you, try this...

Vet's Best Ear cleaning sollution. It comes with an ear wash and an ear dry solution. Use Q-Tips..drip the ear cleaning solution onto the tips, then clean the ear well until the Q-Tips start coming back clean. They apply a very small amount of the ear dry solution into the ear and massage down into the ear canal. That will need to be done every other day for a week. You should see a difference right away though. I tried everything else for Sophie, this is the only thing that works. Sometimes I just do the cleaning and don't bother with the ear dry solution, but make sure that if you do that you dry the ear out well with dry Q-Tips or a cotton ball.

Something else to try...

Otis gets gunky ears as a result of his horrible allergies.  I've had good luck with this ear cleaner - http://www.cogopet.com/store/product/6.  A bonus to this is that a percentage of every purchase goes to a rescue of  your choice.

Does your dog have allergies?  He's not getting them any more, but every time Otis would get his steriod shot, the ear gunk/infections would go away.
