Need a dremel
Submitted by Katie and Chumlee MN on October 21, 2010 - 5:55pmto do Chum's nails. Any suggestions/tips? What works what doesn't work. I've never even used one before, do they shoot air out of one end like a vacuum does? Chumlee hates shooting air :{ I use one of them old school squeeze clippers on him every other week he doesn't mind never has, I'm the one with the issue.
All tough guys wear butt cream on their face at some point ;)

I use a regular Dremel from Home Depot....
The one I have plugs in and we do their nails every two weeks outside because of the nail "powder" that come from filing them. The one I have does not shoot air from anywhere. They can be loud so getting them used to the noise is the worst part. Farley falls asleep every time we do his nails, but we have been dremeling since day 1. We tried the Pet ones that you get but they did not work on his nails. And I use my Dremel for other things around the house too...I just keep a supply of fine sanding bands just for the dogs.

I am happy with my rechargeable dremel from the hardware store.
It has 2 speeds. It takes care of all 5 dogs nails on one charge and would do more. My dogs are happy when I get the dremel out because I also get out a bag of treats and we all sit around on pillows on the floor. I give free pedicures and treats :)

That was one thing I found..I use a VERY special "junk" treat
that they don't usually get like Beggin' Strips or Pupperoni's on Pawdicure day because they know when the Dremel box comes out...they get their nails done and these super awesome treats!!!
Good idea
They usually don't get apples often because of the higher sugar content, only once every few weeks. I could spoil them that day...
