My baby crossed over yesterday evening from CHF

On May 5 she was diagnosed with the dilated cardiomyopathy and her heart was very enlarged. She was put on lasix,enapril and vedmedin and seems to be doing well. She was coughing more the last couple days, but was still moving around and eating a little. Yesterday morning she was asking for food, so I fed her hamburger meat which she ate some and when I came home, she greeted me and then I noticed her heavy panting and her gum was paler than usual. Called the vet and she said to give her the meds early before it was due which was 7pm. So after I gave the meds, half an hr later she seems to be okay, her gum was a very pale pink so I put her in her crate to rest so the other dogs won't bother her. When I went to check on her a half hr later, she had passed away. I'm so heartbroken, she is only 9 yrs old and a chihuahua, these little dogs are supposed to live long. I read that with the meds, dogs with CHF would live a few years on meds, but she only made it to 7 weeks. I've been so depressed all day and it is so hard to write this, please hug your baby today.

I still have medications, I don't know if any rescue groups need it, but if you know anyone who needs it, pls let me know and I will mail these out free of charge if it can help another furkid(s).

I'm so sorry to hear this. It sounded as though she was comfortable at the end. Thank goodness for that.

Thank you for your condolences. I'm glad I did a painting of her last year to remember her from. I have been staring at it all day and not getting any work done.

I'm going to put in the dates when I go home today.

i was so hoping your baby would do good on meds...but with people we all do different.....but listen you loved her and she loved you...what more is their than that.....she went in her sleep knowing your kindness.....

may her new journey be as happy and filled with love as this one was....
