Molli keeps breaking out in hives. I give her a benedryl and they go away. We are trying to narrow down what it is that she is allergic to. We have changed her food, etc., but they keep popping up. I think it is something she is getting into outside, so we are limiting her to the front yard (under supervision) to see if that keeps them at bay.
Just looking for any thoughts on what it might be. She is seven months old and hasn't had this happen until the past few days.
Thanks for any input.
If she isn't on grain free food, you may want...
To start there. Get a good grain free food for her. Process of elimination after that if it isn't a food issue. Good luck!

Hives
Are you sure she hasn't picked up any fleas? Many dogs are allergic to flea bites.
Thanks Micki, I meant to mention fleas. I
Responded really late last night. Didn't write all I was thinking.

I don't think its fleas
She gets bumps that come and go. No bumps this morning. I am narrowing down to something in my backyard. Now...just to figure out what that could be. She sits by the back door and whines because she wants to wrestle with the other dogs. Is grass a possibility?
Thanks so much for your replies!!!
Our Snickers developed hives
Our Snickers developed hives one night after she'd been to dog daycare so we thought she was allergic to something they fed her or something they cleaned with. We searched her from head to toe and finally found a small tick attached between her toes. Once it was gone the hives cleared up. She gets flea and tick prevention but apparently it didn't work all the way to the feet. Be sure to check folds, toes, tail pocket and inside the ears because they may be hiding a tick, ant bite or something else causing the hives. I'd also try giving the dog half a dose of benedryl before going outside to see if this prevents the hives and still lets her play.
