very mild and safe...dont fool around with bloody stool....give him the meds...and he will be ok.....

My boy has been on it many times. As with any drug there is always a chance for an adverse reaction but my boy was fine. After a couple of years of on and off diarrhea and bloody stools, I have finally decided to do homemade meals. Everything is perfect now! I know exactly what goes into his tummy. I make sure to give a probiotic every day especially if he is going to be taking antibiotics. Good Luck.

where do you get your probiotics. I only found a few places online that have it for dogs. Being that its not refrigerated i was scepticle of it containing live cultures. I thought about just using baby acidoplilus...
Probiotics
I order mine on line at www. iherb.com. The brand i use is called Mega Probiotic-ND made by Food Science of Vermont. It was recommended by my holistic vet and it does not need to be refrigherated. It comes in capsule form and I just give him 1 per day opened up in his food. For the time being, you can give your dog some plain organic yogurt in his food. Baby acidolphilis is fine too.
Home made food.
I have just started giving my girl food I make. I am giving her boiled chicken , brown rice and sweet potato. I am not sure on the amounts of each one. What do you use? You mention probiotics, is there a certain one you give? Thanks for the help.

On an other (dutch) forum there were warnings about this med - mostly after giving high doses of the stuff (on vets advice). It can then cause neurological problems.....
Read the advice, talk to your vet.....
