Melatonin dosage

If Ozzy has SFA and we decide to go with Melatonin, is there a difference between human and dog melatonin and what dosage for a 58lb dog?

No difference in Melatonin, buy it at Sam's, Meijer, wherever you get a good price.

For a 58# dog I'd give 5-6 mg once a day and see if that helps. If not step it up to twice a day.

When I know that a particular dog is affected with SFA I start giving them Melatonin in Sept. and continue it through April. Usually then I rarely see any thinning of the coat.
