Hello all. We are new to this forum and, first of all, would like to say hello. We purchased Tank, our 4.5 month bullie from a breeder. He is our second bullie...sadly, we lost Taz to Valley Fever at two years old. Tank is full of energy, but breathes very loudly, almost sounding as if he is snorting. We were used to this with Taz on occasion, but Tank seems to do it constantly. He does not seem to be short of breath and does not have a problem with energy--he has entirely too much!--but the vet seemed concerned and seemed to think it may have to do with his palate and was recommending a visit to a "specialist". Any insight or recommendations with those more experienced in this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Ron
It sounds like an elongated soft palate.
Make sure you go to a good Bulldog veterinarian with lots of experience working on this breed specifically. You want to be sure they have done a lot with this breed before you have much done. But that is what it sounds like to me....
