Limping

Hi, I just noticed my 1.5 year old bulldog started limping. He is able to run and jump and doesn't wince when I touch it. It looks like he doesn't like to put pressure on it. Could it be hip dysplasia or a blown out knee? He was at a friends house playing with other bulldogs two days ago going up and down stairs, but I didn't notice any limping until today.

He probably

just pulled a muscle while playing.  I would try crate rest for 2 weeks and you can add glucosomine chondroitin as a supplement.  Only allow out of the crate for potty breaks.  crate rest is hardest on the humans, but it allows the dog to heal.

limping

Thanks so much. He's pretty much been resting the whole time. Sleeping alot, actually. It looks like it gets better, then he starts to limp again. I will get some glucosomine chondrotin tomorrow though. Can I find that at PetSmart or Petco?

Glucosomine can be in the

Glucosomine can be in the human vitamin section.  I got some at trader Joes.  Crate rest is really the best medicine.  It's hard on us, but it keeps them from re injuring themselves and they heal quicker.

my experience

when my Mr. Higgins went lame the first time, it was a grade 4 luxating patella. Hopefully that is not your case. He was in a lot of pain and needed a narcotic patch. I always think limping equals pain and I feel so bad for them. Good luck.
