Lilly has diarrhea (advice)

For the past week, Lilly's bowel movements have been VERY loose, but here's the weird part, she's acting normal, eating, drinking water and not pooping any more than she normally does (hasn't had any accidents, etc.).  It's just when she goes out for her routine poop, it's runny.   I've taken her food away, fed her rice and lean meat, nothing has worked.  I think I am just going to break down and call the vet today, but wanted to post this and see if anyone had any comments, advice, etc.

Thanks

Have you changed her food?

Have you added a T of pumpkin to her food? Just the plain kind, not with spices. That's always helped Kofi if her stools were soft.

I have not tried this

Maybe I'll give this a try today and see if it helps.  Thanks

How old is she??

I think diarrhea for week is leaning on the dangerous side.  Make sure to keep her hydrated.  I would take her to the vet and have them to a fecal test. She may have something and may need some meds. Poor baby.  Hope she gets better soon

She will be 5 next week

I called the vet yesterday and she told me, due to the fact that Lilly is acting normal, drinking water, eating, etc., to try this:

Boil chicken breast, mix it with white rice and feed her nothing but this for 1 week, if things don't change, bring her in along with a stool sample.  She did mention that it could be something that requires an antibiotic to clear up.

I made the chicken and rice last night and she ate it like she had not eaten in 6 months.  :)

Thanks for all the responses.

If she gets a clean bill of health from the vet you can try

DiaBac for dogs. It works wonders! I've also been using a stool firming supplement called The Perfect Form by honest kitchen that works wonders. But Tuffy has always had soft poops so I think in your case you may want to see what the  vet says first.
