I have a 1.5 yr old male. His name is Nubz but we've always called him Booty (because as you all know, bulldog rear ends are the cutest thing ever)!
Booty's struggled with skin issues since he's been 5 months, everything from demodex mange to yeast infections to dry flaky skin, hair loss and red inflamed hives. I have him on a strict diet of Primal Rabbit raw food, yogurt and ACV to combat yeast infections and any potential food allergy (which I don't think he has, but would rather be safe than sorry since the skin issues and hair loss seemed to be in full force while on Wilderness and has since been non-existent since the switch to Primal Raw).
While bathing Booty today I've noticed the large red inflammed bumps on the outer part of his right front leg, in his arm pit on the same leg and on his chest. I started to retrace my steps and the only thing I've done differently was let him sleep in my bed and my blankets and sheets were freshly laundered. After such a long explanation.....my question is: is there something else that I can wash my linens in? It was so nice to think I had finally got this skin thing under control!!!! I'm desperate, willing to try anything at this point. Thanks guys!
arm and hammer is wat i use
no prefumes or whiter in it...i use it for all my laundry including their beds.....be wary of the yogurt as alot of sugar and sodium in it...omega is the best go with cod liver...one a day....
I use Arm and Hammer also very successfully.
And I am actually surpised about the yogurt possibly causing allergies, but I am pulling Sophia off it and putting her on a rpiobiotic to see if it helps alleviate some issues I have been having. I hope the yogurt isn't the culprit or I am gonna feel mighty stupid after all these years of giving it her and fighting allergies, too.

alot of people use yogurt but....
if you have a sensitive allergy dog...the sugar and sodium are high....i had a person who was giving spaghatti sauce and they were having allergy problems sauce is high in sugar...once they stopped the allergy stopped...i thnk it was kathy who was havin a problem and it turned out one of the supplements she was using was casuing the problem becasue of what the capsule was made from.....when dealing with allergies one has to read labels....it could just be one small thing casuing it......i read more labels for my dogs than i do for myself!!!!!!!
Very interesting Judy.
Thanks for the information. I will hit those labels tonight and see what is in what!

hypo-allergenic laundry detergent
I'm allergic to laundry detergent and have to use hypo-allergic stuff or I break out like poor Booty. :( I use Cheer because, for the longest time, it was the only hypo-allergenic option on the market, but there are several different brands out there now. I hope you find a solution for your boy!! :)

My swimming bully buddy!
We use Tide free and clear, it is recommended by dermatologists
My son has exzema, so detergents are hard on him. Tide free has no dyes or fragrance, it is white bottle of Tide, we also use bounce free dryer sheets, it is a white box of bounce.
Tide is the only thing I can use
I have severe allergies to other detergents. Dreft is also a good gentle detergent.
So......in the year and a half you have had him....
He has never come in contact with anything that was washed in this laundry detergent?
