I just noticed your post about knuckle bones.
Actually, only give them to Kofi if they are large and have lots of meat on them. Sometimes I take them away before she finishes.
Yesterday, I ordered a grinder since I am not confident with always feeding her the bones. I do give her chicken backs and breasts which I wack with a good meat cleaver to break up the bone somewhat.
I give her rib bones with lots of meat and watch her carefully always while she eats.
Some of the books I have read say give only whole carcasses, and some say not to grind the bones, and on and on.
I have to do what is comfortable for me, and every dog is different. I will continue to give a few RMB's to Kofi, but plan to grind for the most part.
It's hard for me to post everything that I do, and I sometimes change my mind if I'm not comfortable. I would hate to mislead anybody. I highly recommend each person investigate carefully before feeding raw.
I will not give Kofi chicken necks or wings unless partially frozen because she gulps them too quickly. Billy Jean (my grandkid's dog, and not a bullly) chews them slowly, so I throw her a couple each day.
Anyway, I'm glad to help all I can, but I'm still learning and searching the web for any info I can find.
I do like dogwise.com, and have learned much from that site. They have a nutrition forum that has some very knowledgeable raw feeders.
Do you get them at the meat market?
That you for responding to my post. With all due respect Carol, when you talk about choping up the necks and backs with the cleaver I get an unforgetable image in my head. I see you standing at the counter whack whack with that big cleaver....lol...careful.....<3 Just had to tell you.
Skasqueeeeeeakaaay!!

I know, the cleaver scares
me too. I could easily loose a finger.
I get the backs at a from a market here in town where the people know how to cook soul food. They have different types of meat that I can't find anywhere else.
Carol/Meat grinder
Hey Carol, Let me know what meat grinder you go with. I have been looking at the Sam Baere SB-500 grinder. It looks like it is a decent grinder for doing chicken. It also has a bunch of you-tube posts showing it in action.
I chose the Waring mg800
I'll let you know how it works. I only checked that one because it was suppose to have a larger hopper. I'm not familiar with the one you're looking at.
