Judy - My Freezer is being stalked - LOL!

So I met up with the Meat Man last Saturday for some RAW goodies and Kohl is now barking at the downstairs door to the garage so he can go sniff the freezer.  I guess all that stinky meat is enticing him.  Thank god I can't smell it.  But OMG is Green Tripe stinky and do they ever love it.  I got a blend of Beef and Green tripe.  The mixed organs is also pretty disgusting, but so far so good. No to little gas, they have put on a couple of lbs (which they needed) and Esters coat looks gorgeous.  Still not happy with Kohl's coat. Now I think I need to add more bone.  I'm getting a case of chicken necks this week.  I should have probably gotten a case of the backs as well.

What else should I be doing for more bone?  I'm still scared to feed rib...but I may have to cave.

Do you mix protein sources or keep separate?  So far I have mixed chicken with the other stuff because they do well on the chicken.

Kohl's poos were a little runny but that is likely from the introduction of the organ meat and tripe.

tripe to my dogs is channel #5

they love tripe....when i  very first start feeding a dog raw i stay one protein for a week then add in one at a time...now my guys get what ever lamb beef chicken,,,,,chicken necks are small but have bone...throw in some extras till your poop gets firm no more than 5 a day....or give a couple of chicken thighs in their meal...dont be afride to use pumpkin to firm up bowels....you may have a couple of days of really loose poop then go firm then loose this is normale.....but try some cheap thighs for bone....

your guy with the poor coat may need some extra cod liver  or salmon oil...i would either go with fresh salmon or a couple of sardines a week....

but yes when i get a fresh supply in...i have to fight my way to the frige...and when the door opens...i have to double check nothing was taken.....

Salmon Oil

Kohl's coat seems to be a problem with the Salmon Oil.  I'm waiting for the sardines to become available again.  I'm going to try the Cod Liver oil with him first to see if he tolerates that better then the Salmon Oil.  I would love to just give him some raw salmon...but it is so dang expensive.

I'll get some chicken thighs...what about wings?

Poo is back to normal, although darker color with the beef, trip and organs.

thats the tripe....

wings are fine...and more boney than the thighs....so you'll get more of your bone content...try the cod liver tab....salmon is expensive also becasue it has to wild and not farmed salmon...to much antibotic use in farmed fish.....you dont have any fish markets for the sardines.....

one thing i just thought about with the wing

they are alot easier to swallow than chew....so i would watch when giving a wing their small....you dont want them to choke!!!  once they get over the eager beaver swllow everything then its ok....but i always watch the first 10 times...thats why i prefer the thigh...a little more work....

Sardines

I suppose I could find a fish market that has them.  Never thought about that...hahaha.  I'll have to check. Maybe a good reason to make a trip downtown Seattle to Pike Street Market.
