Our 9 year old Bulldog (Kilmore) has allergies, dry eye, ear issues etc... For a month he has had slim eye (not green, so no infection). We normally do drops and gel for his dry eye issue, but it wasn't helping. We took him into the vet and they gave us a new drop that contained an antibotic. It's been one week and we are out of those drops, however his eye is now starting to slim over again. The slim did get better with the drops, but never fully cleared. When we called to see what they wanted us to do, the vet has said to use the drops we were using before. Any suggestions on what might help? We will probably be making another vet appointment next week.
what are u giving for the allergies..?
kibby used to get that too, and even one day her eye (just one) turned soo red and crazy , it looked like she had a bee sting or like her eyeball was about to fall out, i was going to have a heart attack! ... it turned out it was just allergies! i give kibby one claritin a day , small white pill, like 10mg lotradine, and no more crazy red eye and gooky stuff lately!
i also take a luke warm wash cloth and clean it off and a cold wet one to soothe eyes too. i think the more gook is there, the more build up of gook to follow. good luck!
sincerely, christine
Allergies Items
We had tried allergies shots, but that didn't work. So now we give Benadryl when needed. Our vet said we could try Zyrtec when the Benadryl wasn't working. We have yet to give a Zyrtec, since we didn't think the slim eye was allergies. Guess I will be picking up Zyrtec or Claritin. We also had changed his food which helped a lot. Now it's just usually spring and fall seasons that he's bad.
We have tried the warm was cloth, but we have a big baby bullie on our hands. He runs and hides under the kitchen table. You would think with giving him eye and ear drops everyday he would be used to it, but he still runs. :)
Thanks!
