I think Angus has a cold ...

First time owner here:  I think my Angus has a cold ... sneezing alot, coughing and a little bit of gagging during cough.  Before I call the Vet, was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on over-the-counter medicines that may be used for a dog's cold?  Thanks.

Just noticed Gizmo doing similar..

It seems like I'm not the only one who has issues around the change in weather - The trip to the Vet every 3-4 weeks is becoming rather old :P

I'm open to suggestions for possible Bully Colds or Congestion.

Sorry but the vet trip is necessary

you don't want to fool around with it.  Could lead to pneumonia if its not taken care of.  Hope they both feel better.  No green or yellow mucus right?

Yep yep, totally agree. Vet visit is in order

It could be a mild cold or a mild Kennel Cough, sounds like the latter to me. But...mild can turn deadly in a day. Vet for meds is called for in this case.

nah no yellow or green

We just noticed she had a little cough last night, and she is licking her nose alot (like a small child w/ a runny nose) we'll see how she is tonight.  If its a trip to the vet, then *sigh* it is. Dottie and I usually err on the 'over protective' side, the Vet loves us   $ $ $ $ :p

Thanks Everyone and yes, vet it is

Thanks for your insight.  No mucas.  Just dry cough w/some gagging and a lot of sneezing, but only seems to be at night.  I did speak to the vet and it sounds like Kennel Cough so antibiotics are necessary and also found out that unfortunately, there are no over-the-counter meds for doggie colds -- in fact, to use them could be dangerous.  Thanks again everyone!
