Wiggles has the absolute worst stinky face ever! She has horrible tear stains and I'm constantly cleaning them and under her nose. Even though I clean every day, she still has a horrible stinky, yeasty smell. I have tried numerous different foods and nothing has helped. I have her on this one brand of all natural food that seemed pretty good but now her gas will clear the room and kill the house plants. Can anyone suggest a food that might help with the stinky, yeasty face?
are you against a raw diet...gas is casued
becasue the stomach cannot process the grains in the food...grain free food is really not grain free....honest kitchen puts out a nice all natural diet...and their are alot of commerical grade raw diets...a little expensive if you have more than one dog......
then if you need to stay on a kibble i know a couple of people using taste of the wild salmon...they love it....
We use Blue Buffalo - Wilderness Salmon
Gizmo is doing really well on the Salmon - except the south end of a north bound Gizmo is right up there with clearing a room, killing the plants, but let me add, PEELING THE PAINT!
Her skin isnt as dry, and she isnt licking her paws like she used to, we are going to try another flavor of the Blue Buffalo to see if it reduces her 'Methane Output'
Unfortuately a RAW diet isnt a viable option for us right now.
LOL

I agree with the raw diet
Yeasty smell and nasty gas are all signs that she is not handling the dry food well.
The system overload takes time to happen- they may start off handling it just fine but after a while the stress on their organs starts to show visible signs, like an overabundance of yeast.

can you send me info on the commercial grade raw diets?

Raw
Hello.
To anyone interested in learning about raw...www.bulldogintheraw.com I have posted a great raw diet video. Also, I use darwins natural dog food. IT comes in pre-measured frozen bags and you just defrost and feed. Super simple! Great improvement in my dog's health, energy, weight etc.

Try Taste of the wild
It's a good grain free food. I suggest the salmon.
California Natural herring is also good.
I agree, TOTW has been a good food for all 4 of my guys.
Granted, only Sophia is a Bully, but all of my dogs are doing very well on TOTW. I rotate bags from Salmon to the Lamb. They do great on both.

Same here...
one on TOTW lamb and two on TOTW salmon. Newman had horrible tear stains when we got him and they are completly gone.
Couple more options
I used to feed "Now" and like it, not too much protein.
Acana is another good kibble that has worked well for my sister with Cleo and also several friends. The only concern I have with this one is the portein is a little high.
Mine didn't do well on TOTW. Ester got a horrible yeast infection. She doesn't handle Salmon well.
I love costco premium brands
Any of the Kirkland premium or Costco's Nature's Domain are great dog foods. I haven't had tear stain problems with any of those. Feeding Nature's Domain right now and really loving how my bulldogs in particular look.
I think you are still going to have to get rid of the tear stains with a thorough cleaning regime because just changing foods isn't going to help unless you get the yeast stopped at the same time.

I put my boys on the costco
I put my boys on the costco grain free one and they have done wonders on it.. poop excellent..and thats after trying all kinds of top graded food with not best results.
I agree the cleaning needs to be often .
